GHT Alliance Partners
Thousands of people call the Himalaya home and the GHT Alliance aims to
improve their lives through sustainable tourism initiatives and targeted training
programs.
There are three core areas to the GHT Alliance:
- Training - Improving professionalism of the trekking industry through training of porters, kitchen crew, trek captains and guides.
- Livelihood - Supporting action plans that help remote communities reap the benefits of tourism on their own terms.
- Operators - By adopting and promoting the Codes of Conduct trekking companies can practice responsible tourism, increase professionalism and safety, and support a quality-based trekking industry throughout the Himalaya.
GHT Alliance Partners bring skills and experience that can extend across the entire Himalaya range. This is a voluntary network of individuals and organisations who share the same values and ideals. To join, you need to adopt and promote the Codes of Conduct and where possible support the training and livelihood programs coordinated by Alliance Partners.
